2010 CSA Programs

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It's a partnership with your farmer focusing on producing high quality foods using ecologically sound methods of farming. CSA members support the budget of the farm and in return receive a weekly share of what's in season. CSA's focus is usually on a system of weekly delivery or pick-up of vegetables, and sometimes flowers, fruits, herbs and even milk or meat products.

Both the farmer and the member share in the risks and rewards of production. Both parties are at risk from inclement weather and natural disasters and both share the rewards of superior conditions and bumper crops.

NV Ranch will begin our third year of Community Supported Agriculture in Spring 2010.

What we offer

Note: Due to our commitment to both the land and our customers, we will no longer be offering a meat CSA beginning in 2010. The demand of keeping a constant supply of beef has caused an already existing erosion problem on our property to worsen. We will continue to offer our meat in individual cuts.

The 2010 program runs for 24 weeks from May 16th through October 30th. Pickups will occur each week at your selected location. Since we have a limited amount of shares, our current participants will be given the opportunity to renew first. We will open registration to everyone beginning November 2009.

CSA FAQ

Can I make payments on my share?

Yes, you may split the cost of your share into multiple payments, as long as payment is received in full by May 1st.

What if I don't like some of the items I receive in my share?

We make an effort to plant a wide variety of produce to satisfy our members tastes. Unfortunately, we can't customize the contents of shares.

What is this thing in my share this week?

We plant many common items most families use on a regular basis. Part of the fun of participating in a CSA is receiving the unexpected. For any unusual or out-of-the-ordinary items, we always try to include a recipe in that week's newsletter.

What if I can't pick up my share this week?

Please call us at least a day ahead and either designate someone else to pick up your share or tell us to donate your share for the week to a local needy family.
