Bulk pork is generally available in the late summer or early fall, depending on the year. For more information or to place an order, please contact us
Our hogs are raised in outside pens (not crammed together inside on concrete floors) on hay, grains, fruits and vegetables without antibiotics, growth hormones or other unnatural chemical stimulants. The meat is wonderfully tasty and will be cut and cured (or not) to your specifications.
We offer half hogs and full hogs in limited quantities. Hog prices are based on carcass weight. A 200 pound hog will yield around 130 pound carcass weight and 90 pounds packaged.
Pork is offered at $3.20 per pound carcass weight, including tax. So, when ordering your pork think like this:
200 pound hog
130 pound carcass weight at $3.20 per pound
90 pound finished weight per whole hog you bring home
Your cost of the 90 pounds = $403 (half hog would be around $200 for 45 pounds).
A hog will equal about 20% ham, 18% chops, 18% roasts, 10% bacon, 4% spare ribs and the remainder in ground pork or sausage.
To reserve your pork, a $50 deposit is required for each side of pork ($100 for a full hog). Your deposit will be applied to the final purchase price. We will send your invoice once your meat has been delivered to the butcher and we get the carcass weight. You will be given a pick up date at that time as well. Orders must be paid for prior to pick up and can be picked up on the farm in Peculiar or you can arrange to pick it up at one of our Farmer’s Market locations.
This is a once-per-year offering with limited supply. We usually have a selection of pork in individual cuts available for purchase on the farm and at Farmer’s Market each week.
To reserve your pork contact us. We’ll contact you for cut specifications and to let you know when your order is ready for pick up.
